Of particular value, then, is its watchtower which stands on a square base. The tourist who goes to visit the Castle of Vezio on Lake Como, can access it through a characteristic drawbridge. Thanks to the careful restoration, the structure can be perfectly visited up to its top.
Among the things not to be missed, there is its immersed green park , as well as the presence of an olive grove which, by virtue of the particular conditions guaranteed by the lake, turns out to be one of the most northerly in the globe. How to get
The Vezio Castle can be easily reached by train from the Varenna / Esino Lario station along the route that goes from Milan towards Sondrio. From the station you have to follow the signs for about 20-30 minutes on foot. By car, take the SS36 in the direction of Sondrio. After Lecco, take the first exit for Abbadia Lariana and continue on the road to the lake. Once in Varenna, turn left towards the center and cross the town.
